egoldstein says: This is such a great article - about a man who decided to give up money. I suggest everyone read it in its entirety. Wow egoldstein, you out did yourself! This is the most wonderful clip I ever read! I am 64 but would love to end my days doing such a thing! What a wonderful story, thank you so much, it made me think and made my day! Thank you shaor - i felt the same way after reading this. very powerful and thought provoking. This is why ;'clipmarks' is my favorite! me too I read both your articles and it reminded me of a fellow here in Oz they did a whole ABC documentary on him. He was a "responsible bank clerk" and seemed happy with his life. He just disappears one day and then 22 years later (or something like that) a journalist picks him to give him a lift, gets utterly intrigued by his story. Decides to find his family and bring them together again (with permission of course from the wandering nomad). It turns out, he just had enough of the "bank clerk" lifestyle went off to find work elsewhere, was unsuccessful and that is how he lost contact with his family - initially feeling shame but then he just got to a point where he could not go back. He spen... I have often wondered when I see homeless people, if they have an interesting story to tell on how they got that way, I feel not all of them have a drug problem. |
