During the primaries, Obama was targeted and powerful with his message of change. He connected with people's hearts while Hillary tried to connect with their minds. It was obvious to anyone watching that Hillary was frustrated by this lock he had on her...but she got out of it by appealing to people's hearts, not their minds, for the stretch run (which proved very successful). If Obama is to win this election, he must realize that it wasn't his cerebral ability to speak about specific policies...it was his passionate ability to speak from the heart and connect with people's hopes and dreams for this country. The idea that politicians are encouraged to win with flowery words and not effective policy is scary to me. I agree totally...but it does seem to be the winning formula. I remember with Bush, people seemed all ecstatic about the idea that he was just like them, a guy they'd want to get a beer with. I was like, "and why the heck would you want the President of the United States to just be an ordinary person." Now people are saying that about Palin like it's some kind of good thing. She's just a typical hockey mom...therefore i'm totally excited about her becoming VP of the United States. WHAT!!!!!! you give out reasonable and understanding views! I am no political expert. I am just an American. It seems to me that talk of "effective policy" IS heart-touching. "Effective Policy" = designing and enforcing the real things that are going to make us survive and thrive as a Nation, now that's music to my ears. I do not want to have my "ears tickled" - I only want people of integrity to speak the truth. I would much rather have a politician say, "Here's the thing...the next two years are going to be rough! We are going to experience A, B, C...but because of our "effective policy" we are going to transform the situation and it is going to yield X,Y,Z...! We need your help - we can do it - we ARE going to do it. Amen...and kiss the bab... Hey parents and kids, come watch Disney's latest movie: Hockey Mom in the White House. You thought she was rough in the rink, now watch her take on the world... A movie only sport moms and kids could love........aaaaaaaawwww  Starring Mr. McCain as Good Old Poppa, he and he alone knows what's good for you. Listen up kids! |
