add on to #9, don't buy books from campus bookstore. Get the isbn numbers and other info and buy them on half.com, amazon.com etc you'll save loads of money.

#10 (for the end of the school year) Don't sell your textbooks to the campus bookstore. Sell them to other students...

#11...swap notes with classmates. I found this incredibly useful.

-ask questions and talk to the teacher, even if you have nothing to say a simple introduction does the trick. When you have a question about something that has been discussed it helps to know the teacher, who will gladly the answer anything even if s/he already covered it. You will need recommendations for a number of things and this teacher will mostly likely help.
-ask for everyone's email it helps to stay connected and makes it easier to swap notes.
-Don't, and I mean don't say no to a classmate who needs notes, that person may be the only one who can help you when you are out
- (not necessarily related to actually studying butI think its nice) get to know the people who work on campus, ...
