When you have a question about something that has been discussed it helps to know the teacher, who will gladly the answer anything even if s/he already covered it. You will need recommendations for a number of things and this teacher will mostly likely help.
-ask for everyone's email it helps to stay connected and makes it easier to swap notes.
-Don't, and I mean don't say no to a classmate who needs notes, that person may be the only one who can help you when you are out

- (not necessarily related to actually studying butI think its nice) get to know the people who work on campus, the coffee lady, the janitor, the parking guard you don't know when they can give you a hand (the "coffee lady" let me take a coffee even though I was short a dollar, I needed it since I had gotten to school from an 8 hour shift; the parking guard had a friend help me start my car and lent me the wires and all-- although that is not his job)
more importantly these people are as much a part of the educational experience as the teachers and the school clubs
