Is this the real answer or is that the same argument we were given in Spain. Now kids rarely find a job until they are 25+ and retired people are replaced by technical devices. Employment is gradually being reduced to feeding the wealthy while the workers..... Who cares about the workers any more?

Sounds like a great idea to me.

What's the retirement age for people in my age group now (mid-40's).

I think it's 70.5 years.

From my experience if you want to work, you can get work!! So many people are just happy to sit on their back side and let others pay!!! I'm up for retirement as well, I enjoy work.

There may be some idle who prefer to let others pay but the vast majority can't work for a good reason and need assistance to get to a situation where they can find a job and move on from others helping them. My mother was widowed when pregnant, and with four small children too. So how should she have handled work AND caring for us? Go out and beg? Or rely on state aid until we were old enough for her to go out and work, as she did do when it was possible. Not everything is black or white, there are grey areas too!!

Yes good point, but we are talking of today and not history, My very good friend, that is divorced and has children, they are old enough to go out and find work, but no they just sit at home and expect mum and dad to pay and just sit idle and let mum do all the work, and she has to work all hours just to survive, idle youngsters who cant get off their back and find work, any work to help. That’s the problem today; people who want to work will find work.

Yeah, that's why 20 of my friends in the US who have been looking desperately for work for 6 month-2 years still don't have jobs, despite job searching for over 50 hours a week. The jobs aren't there; it's deceitful to pretend they are.
