So to conclude, women who have abortions are being failed by a system, over which pro-life bastards have too much influence.

Interestingly enough, much of these facts come from a study published in 2004 in the Medical Science Monitor, which compared the effects of abortion on women in the USA and Russia. The website DOESN'T tell you that the study shows that American women had much worse outcomes than the Russian women did, meaning it is not inevitable for most women to experience PSTD symptoms after an abortion.

Kinda odd methinks that sooooo many people who are "pro-life" are also the very same people who are pro-death penalty, and pro-war.

In short: pro-life all the way from conception until birth

So in other words you're for the killing of innocent babies and against the killing of convicted murderers. Wonderful.

I'm over 50 and I know a few women that -many years ago- have aborted. All of them -no exceptions- regret it.
I heard the same comments form other friend's friends but I accept that it may just be another "urban legend".
What we don't think about is that ALL OF OUR MOTHERS were -without exception- pro-life women. If our way to keep their memories alive is supporting -or even accepting- abortion, something went really wrong in our society.
And BTW, I'm not pro death-penalty nor pro-war.

Bullshit kwonsu, my mother believes women should have the right to decide whether they want to have the child or abort. You are right when you say something went really wrong with 'our' society though.

I have recently become pro choice and would like to see an amendment to the constitution to that effect as long as it contains a provision protecting the life and health of the baby.

Good point Socratoad. For the record, I find it disturbing. I do not support the death penalty and I am no moderate. It just does not morally feel right. How can we expect a society that cannot even deliver mail correctly, to exact justice so well as to determine death an appropriate punishment.
There are theological aspects that do reconcile these seemingly opposing stands and they are valid. I just cannot bring myself to support them. I would err on the side of caution.

Mothers with unwanted births suffer from higher levels of depression
and lower levels of happiness than mothers without unwanted births.
from this site. yes, it's planned parenthood, but it also has a cited source. also see the site for the statistics on states with stronger abortion laws.

I am tired of seeing so called "facts" reported by the side of any issue that they appear to uphold. "Facts" (in fact *wink*) are no such thing in these circumstances, no matter which side/camp is citing them.
