Maryland just passed a law that allows dependents to stay on their family's health insurance plans up to the age of 25 - regardless of whether or not they are full-time students. Qualifying dependents cannot be married; they must live at home with the plan holder for at least half of the year, and receive at least fifty percent of their support from the plan holder. I hope more states adopt this law.... I am on the NJ Cobra Plan. I can be on it until I’m 30, as long as I don't get married or have kids. The only problem is the monthly deductibles are ridiculous. |
