He later earned an Associate in Science Degree in Respiratory Therapy from Loma Linda University School of Allied Health.  He worked as a Registered Respiratory therapist (RRT) and Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) at Loma Linda University Medical Center in the Pulmonary Intensive Care Unit, Critical Care Unit, LLUMC Transport Team and primarily in the Neonatal and Pediatric Intensive Care Units. One month prior to starting dental school, he was invited to travel to Riyadh, Saudi Arabia with the Loma Linda University Overseas Heart Surgery Team, where he provided life-support for neonatal and pediatric post heart surgery patients.
