I half-joked to my Christian parents that Obama was going to bring me back to God; I feel the need to pray to someone, something, anything, for his protection.

Well, he did say he wanted to mirror Lincoln. The well-wishing of Bush's would-be and hoped-for assassin seems to evoke a kind of bad karma here. I certainly pray for his safety.

As I understand it, code names are now more of a tradition than an actual security measure in our more technologically-sophisticated age.
