Substitutionary atonement at work again.

I know this is so cliche to say now, but can't we all just get along?! I mean really...We spend so much time focusing on what makes up different that we ignore what makes us the same. I'm a Christian and I believe in God, but in the end, God is love, no matter what you may choose to call him/her/it/whatever. We're never going to know who's right, if any of us are, until we're dead. So why focus all this energy on some kind of holy pissing match while we're alive being divisive. It just really bothers me. I can see why young people are turning away from religion/spiritualness...look at what's going on!

We're gonna know when we're dead? you sure 'bout that?

The funny thing is that so are we...

Well I can claim to have experiences that affirm His existence in my life. But as a whole, are we ever going to know who's right? Maybe when we're dead, maybe while we're still alive, but who knows? I guess all I was saying is that we shouldn't be focusing on who's right or wrong, but on how we're all alike.

Yes, God/gods are all those things and so are we. But (and this is just m.h.o.) at the most basic and fundamental level, God/gods are love and it requires love to get us through and over all of the things that you (skwirl) listed.

Jeez, what a surprise! Christians can't even get along with other Christians (in different denominations) so why would pissing off Jews come as a shock?

Fundamentalists of any sort, or in any religion, have little tiny, narrow, blinders on, and anyone not wearing exactly those same blinders is, baaaad.

Humans wreck religions. It must be human nature that causes this. Get rid of organized religion and let people be good to each other.
