While I agree basically with the idea of power being involved I think it more fitting to ascribe their fear to a loss of privilege. There are many Christian Nationalists who are on the lower economic-sociological staircase and do not have much power or any real prospects to obtain any real power (meaning, in the most sense the ability to forcefully influence others to their point of view). There are many Christian Nationalists who are on the lower economic-sociological staircase and do not have much power or any real prospects to obtain any real power (meaning, in the most sense the ability to forcefully influence others to their point of view). What they do have in common is the perception of themselves as being special and superior to other people. They believe that their place in society is enhanced by their belief in their God (morally and ethically) which makes them the rightful recipients of better treatment than others. It is a mindset that ascribes virtues to them which they assume are not granted to people that don't share their dogma. Think of the prejudice towards Jews or Muslims even though there is plenty of evidence that there are many powerful Jews and Muslims in the world. Yet these minorities might be denied access to certain activities or organizations because of their beliefs. These special activities or organizations are for the privileged ones who subscribe to the "correct" dogma.
