ratilfar says: OOooops! I guess it's not needed anymore since he secured the republican nomination. Political expediency you know. Shit you beat me by like 4 hours!!!!! Not a competition, the more clips the better! Luv the tags baby. You know, I just had a thought.... Seems to me that since I have not seen millions of Christians line up on the streets to protest men like Hagee, then "logic" tells me that they approve of his message and the policies that he supports (like the War in Iraq and the wiping of Israel of the map). Where are the moderate Christians protecting the image of Christendoms? I mean if we ask the same of our Muslim brethren then surely.... Good point, I'm sorry to say. - (like the War in Iraq and the wiping of Israel of the map). I'm no fan of Hagee or his beliefs, but what gives you the idea he wants israel wiped off the map?? He's a staunch supporter of Israel, they took what he said about Hitler out of context. He was saying that a good thing came out of something bad, that God used it to bring about His will. Not that it "should" have happened. -Seems to me that since I have not seen millions of Christians line up on the streets to protest men like Hagee, then "logic" tells me that they approve of his message Actually that's not true, because most Christians support the notion that everyone is entitled to their own belief, whether or not they agree with it. It's called being an individual with a free will. I said it as a response to all of those who every time some mullah or angry protester in Pakistan says something idiotic or a bomb goes off expects a billion people to take to the streets denouncing the act. It is part of the dominionist tale of the end times. The reason why Hagee and his ilk want a Israeli state is because they see it as a necessary step in the road to the kingdom of Christ. In the process their would be the great battle and anyone who has not converted to Christ would be destroyed. In order words Israel as we know it today would be destroyed and so would anyone not fitting the description of the "chosen ones". I think you need to read up on the subject a little bit more rather than just taking snippets of what is said out of context... "cult of hatred", where do you get that idea? or are you being sarcastic.. I have read enough, thank you. I had my "evangelist" years when I was younger. He said that God sent a hunter, Hitler to drive the Jews to Israel. And why is Israel so important, because it fits a false time line for the end of times, in which, btw, anyone that does not convert, dies. As simple as that. @Smoke McCain sought Hagee's endorsment. As for Trinity Church been a "cult of hatred" you have no proof of that, which fits your pattern of saying inflammatory things with no proof whatsoever. ratilfar's quite correct about the pretribulational literalism that Hagee represents. Those who follow his views teach that these political moves are steps toward Armageddon, and that Jews will either convert or be destroyed. The end of the world and the coming of the Lord are hastened by lining up on Israel's side and attacking Iran. But I am not convinced that this modern political state called Israel has anything to do with the spiritual Israel of the New Testament. Certainly, this political entity's methods do not reflect God as he is portrayed in the life of Jesus Christ; and it is part of the calling of those of us who follow him to resist injustice no matter who does it - including both Israelis and Palestinians. Smoke, that Trinity Church of Christ preaches hate is a distorted fad designed to smear Obama. You could produce the same result by quoting the Bible itself out of context - and it wouldn't make it so. But I am not convinced that this modern political state called Israel has anything to do with the spiritual Israel of the New Testament. Certainly, this political entity's methods do not reflect God as he is portrayed in the life of Jesus Christ; and it is part of the calling of those of us who follow him to resist injustice no matter who does it - including both Israelis and PalestiniansI agree. We should support justice regardless of who does it, that is just and unbiased. |
