I LOVE bridges. Very few people realise that when the Widnes-Runcorn Bridge over the River Mersey was built it was the largest single span cantilever bridge in Europe. And the third largest in the world!!!

Beautiful pictures. I have a bridge phobia, If I had to transverse any of those really long ones, I wouldn't be able to. Probably I'd stop the car and hide my head in a full fledged panic attack.
The Verrazano Bridge was a tough nut to crack.
