einbar says: Humanity is on the verge of becoming a new and utterly unique species, which he dubs Homo Evolutis Homo EvolutisWe are already in the midst of minor improvements to the human body and mind; Enriquez gave examples of growing new tissues for successful transplant, programmable cells, and augmenting our abilities through robotics. As this trend accelerates, more and more aspects of the human experience, of the human life, will be capable of scientific manipulation. While some improvement may come post-birth, our understanding of DNA and biology may lead to something much bigger. link to the article"HOMO EVOLUTIS":http://keskustelu.suomi24.fi/show.fcgi?category=2000000000000020&conference=4500000000001858&posting=22000000040790833 I call it Creative Evolution. It is derived from sentience but doesn't necessarily have a directive. With evolved techniques, certain areas of accomplishment may prove to be more evident and identifiable. Sports is an example. As more and more striving for a desired goal manifests desirable attributes, further effort, support and organization augment the intended results. dinos - about 225my mammals - about 65my humans - about 1.5my Humans are very young on their evolutionary ladder. We havent even reached a stationary trend in the scope. We could still evolve into a "FAILED" species. We got a long way to go baby. This is truly a scary thought. They could create a species of elite people, and one of workers or drones. The elite would have it all and the workers would be the providers destined to never improve their lives and become better. thats already happening This IS interesting. To respond to Tanyamm and to play the devil's advocate: Maybe only those who actually believe in science should be allowed to call themselves evolved and enjoy the benefits of said 'evolution...' --Like modern health care, Currently, apparently, the only thing one needs to 'believe' in is one's own 'right' to reap a gross profit in spite of gross waste and environmental neglect. Only as ONE can we ever truly evolve, but most intelligent people tell me that I'm 'dreaming'...As long as we are tuning our heads from starvation, repression, poverty...'we' are at best only an opportunistic sub-species...or something. Arthur C. Clarke envisioned a future where criminals wer... Thanks, I guess I'm a bit of an alarmist. Always imaging the worse so reality doesn't seem so bad. Great! Maybe we'll evolve ourselves right out of existence! The plan is set in motion! Let's go! Take a look at http://vhemt.org/ Yes, because what we need more of is specialists telling us what's beneficial (oh, you don't want your child to have those genes, do you?). There is no doubt in my mind that such _will_ be used to further divide and control. Seriously. Check out John Taylor Gatto and schooling (his webpage has a number of links, how modern schooling is all about creating two castes, elites, and workers, and quoting those that informed school policies, be they in government or corporations). ... yeah, I have seen him already! Coming out of McDonalds, having some chronic illnesses and allergies, at least asthma. Can't eat the same as I, because he has allergy against crop - (what brings the evidense, that those baps not are made of flour) - against milk, salt, sugar and nearly all, that men need for living. And the name "homo" can't be correct! While homo sapiens is an omnivore by his metabolism - the new one mostly claims to be a veggie. I don't know - how he can get in such a short time of evolution, new stomaches or is he a stealthily ruminant? A strange kind of new species! For the most part unexplored. I suspect, he came from Roswell. |
