If they really wanted to stop a terrorist they would have security in airport parking lots where someone could easily take a rocket launcher out of their trunk, blow up a plane taking off and be long gone before anyone even realized what happened. For that matter, the FBI guys could actually follow up on tips they recieved like they didn't do pre-9/11 when they were told about "Arabs who wanted to know how to fly a plane but weren't interested in knowing how to take off or land it.
