Starting in 2013, the baseball writers will disqualify for post season awards any player that has a bonus clause in his contract for getting votes. That should take care of any appearance of impropriety - who's to say a writer can't be bribed into voting for a player? But it also makes pay for performance tougher. And with teams not required to disclose contract terms, could the new policy ever really be enforced?
