"I just feel so sad," Muhammad said. "I feel that the court is there for justice for us. I don't feel that the court recognized me as a person that needed justice. I feel I can't trust the court." Bye Bye You have to be properly identified and sworn in to testify in court. From Religion News Service: Muslim Says He Was Fired for Not Giving to Catholic Charity NEWARK, N.J. (RNS) The U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission has filed a religious discrimination lawsuit against the nation's largest community development corporation, alleging that it fired a Muslim employee after he refused to donate money to a Catholic charity. -- Jeffery C. Mays ===== Can anyone find a full article on this online? couldn't her identity have been established in private skwirlinator & verified for the court ? that's like if I worked at a topless bar & WAS ONLY KNOWN BY MY BREASTS - WOULD I HAVE TO GO TOPLESS IN COURT ? LOL I did SAY THAT ! LOLOL oops & sorry for the caps but -- GD, on this i agree with you entirely. He could have taken her in to chambers and gotten her testimony there. It wouldn't really have taken much at all. Peace.................. All these things are true, but for the same reason that foreigners coming to this country should learn english, because it's the language we speak here, the culture is part of the requisite as well. A person choosing to use their government given American legal system to their advantage, should be willing to make compromises for their Americanism. In muslim countries, the woman would have had to have a man stand for her in court and hope that everything went ok. Here in America, she can do these things for herself. Your religion is your choice, especially in this woman's case, and if you want that more than your American privileges then that's up to you. This woman's freedom of religion has been impinged by a representitive of the united states goverment. He should be reprimanded and she should be compensated. There is no law on the books that you have to be able to see the face of a person making testimony. Frankly, I'm not comforatable making sworn testimony, period. It's against *my* religion.
