That was one irate prarie dog!
And the elephants are probably discussing whether the crazy two-legs with strange equipment should be stomped into jelly.

Maybe it's better that we don't understand what they're saying.

Hey Chestnut,

This mother possum every so often visits. The first time she had a new little baby in her pouch. See the photos Here

Just recently I chanced to encounter her again and the baby was on her back (last photo) from the above album.

She doesn't make any sounds. A lot of the communication between us is non-verbal. She often goes to the shadows and sits on one of the pylons and we just look at each other - I could touch her if I wanted and she seems unperturbed. These are really beautiful encounters.

Thanks for the clip.

Wow celestial, Those are great photos and what a wonderful experience. Those are the moments that make me feel at one with the universe and connected to all living things, a little piece of heaven perhaps.

Now about that possum, she is much more attractive than our possums. Ours are gray with a more pointy nose and not really much of a personality. I think I like yours better.

Hi Chestnut,

"a little piece of heaven" rings very true for me too.

Our possums are cute for sure, though, they can become pesky as well. In the hall where I teach, at one stage they found a way to get into the store room and then they were pesky - mostly because of the smell and the mess.

Sealed off all openings and now, they still live in the ceiling, which I love, I read a couple of books a number of years ago, a fellow called Michael Roads. he books are called "Talking With Nature" and "Journey Into Nature". His personal explorations in connecting with nature in deeper ways.

There is a section where he talks about having a problem with kangaroos on his property where he ran cattle. H...

Thanks celestialdancer, I'll be sure to look up Michael Roads and his books. I think we still have so much to learn from all of the amazing creatures on this Earth besides ourselves. We have hardly even skimmed the surface.
