Exact date is unknown, and there is still debate on weather it happened before the Civil War of the United States, or during the interlude before the Spanish American war in the late 1800's. The first steps to a totalitarian regime were evident between the war to end all wars (cough) and good old WWII.

The internet was on fire during the Clinton scandal. In fact that set precedence for wristing off at the government. As for the Reagan Administration... listen to some punk music from deep in the crevices of the cities around the world. The message was there, no one of importance cared, and the rest of the sheeple moved on.

What I guess is sad, no matter what we say, we are all pundits in a system in which we don't elect the people who call the shots. Read into how the electoral collegiate can be twisted, and then look into how many positions of power are "appointed."

First. My math was based on perception (silly thing) and I apologize for making the older feel elderly (nothing wrong with it I swear!)

Second. Yes they did get haircuts, and like their fathers suggested, they got jobs. And in the fashion world (and automotive industries) they capitalized on their childhoods (Remember that whole seventies retro phase in the mid to late nineties, not to mention the VW bug). The reasons they rebelled for, the ideals of their movements nothing but dreams strangled by materialistic greed.
