a gay eighth-grader who used to come to school in makeup, high heels and earrings.Didn't this kid have at least one parent that knew better than that? Its an obvious problem waiting to explode. Not to minimize the crime of murder, but there's something wrong with this picture on the gay teen's side. Any adult should have known better. We agree on this Aces! I support gay rights and marriage or the legal equivalent of it 100% and of course the murder was wrong. However, one having a legal and even moral right to do something does not mean one is sensible, sane or even free of all legal liability when one initiates behavior known to be likely to cause riot. Remember that talk show that surprised guests with their secret crush. They invited a guy whose secret crush was not the female he expected but a male admirer. The guy ended up killing the admirer, and while that is not right, it is a foreseeable possibility and I felt strongly the show host should have been charged for that. I don't know if they were and I don't know the fate of the guy.I should look into that. The difficulty I have apart from the obvious tragedy of murder is understanding how a gay person could disrespect his sexuality by goading resentment in heterosexuals. Doesn't make sense. Identity crisis? Maybe he was a bi-sexual? Both possibilities suggest a confused kid. It is sad. Different people react differently to similar situations. Most people will try to conceal from dangerous others their vulnerabilities. Others will get angry and want to confront the danger perhaps from a fear that if they give in to their fear it will completely overwhelm their already present insecurities. Some thoughtsanyway. No matter what this kid did… No matter how he dressed… No matter how he talked… No matter who he courted… No matter what he was… No matter what you may think… No matter what… It. Does. Not. Justify. Murder. Never. |
