Amardeep Singh, executive director of the coalition, said that the policy allowed people to be singled out "on the basis of their religion".

Nope. On the basis of dress that can conceal a weapon.

Screeners were also required to do as much as possible to avoid physically touching the sacred turbans.

What makes it sacred? Was it blessed by a Rabi? Besides, don't they have the option of not flying?

They are already deploying (in select airports) 3D Xray scanners which look frankly like something right out of the future.
