Surprising, considering all the earlier religious indoctrination pushed by the right wing. They're seeing through the lies of the administration and they're growing up fast.

You can't hide the fact that the troops are not looked after when they get home, that many of their number have suicided, that they will be back looking for the same job unless the economy is fixed, and this list could go forever.

Aces, don't forget that younger evangelicals are much different politically than their parents. Their most passionate moral issue is poverty, not the things we tend to associate with the religious right. The RR is dying a slow but certain death.

When I wrote that I had in mind the threats some of the atheist soldiers were getting. Some were even threatened by their superior officers.

Remember the video games they were going to be sent (killing the non Christians in Armageddon), the bibles for Iraqi distribution, the Pentagon prayer groups, etc.?

We don't hear about that much anymore. And I wonder if war torn soldiers just aren't buying into it.
