We've had a succession of Govts wanting a new Nat Curriculum for years. Seems to come up when teachers get really fed up every seven years or so. The state Ministers can't agree because the circumstances vary from state to state or members from different parties have to toe the line of their Party's philosophies. And so on with everything but testing because that can shift the blame to teachers. Teachers should be allowed to write a national curriculum. The tricky bit is making the Ministers think that they were in control of content. Especially as most haven't any effective education. |
