masbury says: Takes aim at a plan that isn't under consideration; falsely claims New York Times as source. Big Health Insurance has Americans in its deathgrip, and doesn't want to let go of the most shameful get-rich scheme in the world. Another side effect of living in a country where companies have more rights than individuals. I heard an analyst on NPR point out that our health care system was created to make wealth, not health. Further, he observed that the insurance industry adds NOTHING to healthcare - it is solely a middleman that has found a way to suck off huge profits of its own while contributing nothing. I wouldn't say it contributes nothing. It contributes death, by withholding needed treatment, putting people into an indeterminate limbo while they're "considering" whether to pay for their treatment or not, hoping that the person dies or gives up before they have to pay. |
