Antara says: www.noteviljustwrong.com (couldn't clip it but check it out ) I think that is just hilarious. I have had my comments banned by two climate deniers here on clipmarks because I have the audacity of actually knowing something about the subject and calling them on their biases and incomplete knowledge. A global gerbil warming warning paper, which was released to coincide with this year’s Earth Day misery meetings, predicts dire consequences for the future of the planet as a result. The mean body temperature of the earth’s gerbils is rising at an alarming rate, all because of the planet’s greenhouse effect. The planet will be doomed if gerbils can’t cool off by 2175 or next year. kmcolo....what does your being banned by others have to do with me? lol@ clipontie I have had my comments banned by two climate deniers here on clipmarksSo, exactly who is denying we have a climate, those who think every climate change is due to mankind, or those who believe the climate was changing long before the invention of the SUV and will likely still be doing so for centuries to come? No climate scientist I know denies that climate is variable. The point is to see how much, if any, current warming is attributable to CO2 released by human activity. Too bad those scientists aren't the ones driving the debate instead of all the scientists (who usually specialize in something other than climate) and political pundits who have declared the science settled and beyond reproach and are telling us we need to move forward with the releasing of the cash (usually into areas where they happen to have personal investments). I don't dismiss/deny Climate change. Though all the changes may not be man-made I know humans have a major role, in it. Lesser and lesser forests, fewer species of wildlife, dirtier rivers, warmer atmosphere, increasing deserts, .... I don't agree with anyone who says we humans don't have a role to play. And don't straight away label people who point us in the other direction as panicky. Sometimes when someone speaks seriously about something and we are not giving our ear to them with a similar amount of seriousness, it may sound like panic. I hope not to wakeup like that cartoon character who walks off a cliff and realizes after a few steps that he is walking in thin-air. But what evidence do you have other than a gut feeling that humans play a major role on changing the entire temperature of the Earth? How is our role greater than that of the sun, the oceans, and the Earth itself? When did we start having this effect and why did the climate manage to change without our help? I hope we aren't that cartoon character either. But I think we the last thing we need to do is shut down the debate and just do something for the sake of doing something. If we had done that in the 70s, we would have had the government trying to find ways to melt the polar caps to avoid the ice age which never came. Think about where that would have left us today if it had worked. But what evidence do you have other than a gut feeling that humans play a major role on changing the entire temperature of the Earth? The evidence is called CO2 and CH4, both known greenhouse gases. |
