balthazarus says: "When children see a shark eat a seal they feel sorry for the seal, but it's like a lion catching a zebra - it's a natural phenomenon. Interesting bias... i wonder why? Think I'll give surfing a miss today. Watch the movie Sharkwater, I believe it is called for an entirely different perspective on sharks..as the article you clipped remarks, sharks are remarkably efficient at killing their PREY, and their prey is seldom, and certainly not naturally, us. As Mr. Fellows remarks as well, for a shark to kill its' prey, the seal, is as natural as us eating, well, what? a carrot? Is it 'natural' for us to eat farm produced chickens and pigs? Those are, perhaps, the animals we might consider feeling 'sorry' for. Just a thought and thanks for the great clip. |
