I think its a great idea; it makes certain types of worship relevant to the real world, like giving and kindness, and caring for others on a global scale. It also serves notice that the world is not going to end in 50 years or less so we better be responsible to it. I like it.

This might be off the topic but speaking of Christians they want to make the world a better place and that's nice. But, what I have a problem with is the idea that it is now acceptable to have children first to find out whether you're ready for marriage. People live together for years and have children but they but can't afford to get married. How do they figure that? They can afford children but they can't afford to get married. Why? Is it the ceremony and reception etc. costing thousands that make a marriage legal?

Is that what they're doing? Perhaps you're working with a presupposition that is true for you, but not necessarily true for others.

A marriage license is cheap. I think you might be injecting your own assumption that people aren't married because they can't afford it. Of course they can afford it.

Marriage has inherent baggage that people who "want" to be married are willing to accept.
