But, what I have a problem with is the idea that it is now acceptable to have children first to find out whether you're ready for marriage. People live together for years and have children but they but can't afford to get married. How do they figure that? They can afford children but they can't afford to get married. Why? Is it the ceremony and reception etc. costing thousands that make a marriage legal?
