I don't know Oscarrob. I can tell you that I don't listen to rap music and I don't listen to Imus, Howard Stern or Bill O'Reilly for that matter. I've listened to country music which is full of divorce, cheating, drinking and suicide. All I can say is I'm sad that this has escalated into a black/white issue with both sides pointing the finger at each other, eagerly insisting both sides are more objectifying of women. News Flash; women are objectified from birth until death. We are told we are either ho's or "good girls" depending upon our sexual behavior, and it's insinuated by some that we aren't as smart as men. Interesting points debbyski, 'cept one thing... i dont think it escalated into a black white issue. It WAS a black white issue from the moment Imus referred to them as nappy headed. I don't think he was talking about the jewish people with excessively kinky hair either.

I do take exception with Al Sharpton and others just taking on Imus without thinking about where Imus thought he had gotten the "license" to say these things in the first place -- black and white rappers for a start.

Imus thought he had licence and his flaw was to think that he could say these words in his white skin. YOu have to be in the hood to say it and even then, i think it is coarse, crass and pathetic to refer to wo...
