Cristol claims that several congressional investigations have concluded that the attack was an accident. False. The librarian of Congress reported on July 26, 2006, that there has never been a congressional investigation. Liberty survivors offer $10,000 cash to anyone who can prove that there has been. Neither Cristol nor anyone else has applied for that award.

Cristol's Navy "career" was that of a weekend warrior reserve lawyer. He never served in combat or anywhere near combat. He has never been shot at. Those of us who suffered through an hourlong, well-coordinated, combined arms (air/ship) attack against our ship, seeing our shipmates killed and wounded, know the difference between an accident and a deliberate attack. Cristol obviously does not. To have our eyewitness accounts dismissed by someone who wasn't there and knows nothing about what happened only worsens the trauma we still experience.

That's what they call Friendly fire is it?
Oops! So sorry didn't mean to kill those ones...
Remember the cable-car in Northern Italy a few years back? I don't think any of those top guns ever received real sentences....
That's what friends are for?

Hell the whole Vieques incident started when some dumb F/A-18 jock decided to drop concrete bomb (simulated munitions made out of concrete instead of steel and HE)
and killed a guard working for the Navy.

A year or so of peaceful protests and the Navy, even after backing a pro-statehood candidate lost big and had to retreat. Of course they did not do so before humiliating the protesters, locking them in dog cages (Guantanamo style) and threatening the locals with retaliation. And they still haven't clean up over 60 years of pollution of the island beautiful beaches and coral reefs.

In each of the last two days I've had another two Israeli art students selling paintings to me.

As on the previous occasion when Art4All where here, I discussed Israel with them. I have absolute trust in the lad named Guy as we told me something very unusual in addition to this issue. Neither of the them ever hear anything about the sinking of USS Liberty. The final year female did spend her time in the Israeli Defence Force IDF and kept calling me 'sir', which I hated.

I knew that not all served in the IDF directly and instead served in the medical. I did not know previously about conscientious objectors, who must do prison time. He gave me sources and I'll be posting them in time. The po...

Cristol was a "weekend warrior" AFTER leaving regular service. Here's his actual navy bio:

"In November 1951, during the Korean conflict, A. Jay Cristol joined the US Navy as an aviation cadet, earning his Navy Wings of Gold in April 1953. He deployed with VS-37, a Navy anti-submarine squadron aboard the aircraft carrier Princeton (CV-37) to the Western Pacific and the Sea of Japan. He was also part of TG70.4 during February 1955, in support of evacuating Nationalist Chinese from the Tachen Islands near the Communist China mainland in the South China Sea. He flew day and night missions as both a hunter pilot flying the Grumann AF-2W and a killer pilot flying the Grumann AF-2S. He was s...

So?

Why not one line giving sources. Do you not get it. We can read! Nearly 3,000 words where half a dozen would do!!! Cop yourself on. All your bilge will not change the truth. Now here is a sample on this charlatan from Google.

'Liberty' Smearing Backfires:
Pro-Israeli Cristol Overreaches - When Ahron Jay Cristol, a
self-described amateur historian, showed up at the National Security
Agency's (NSA) National Cryptologic Museum at Fort George C. Meade,
MD., on Jan. 14, 2004, there was something almost sacrilegious about
his presence there.

HOW ISRAEL CONTROLS WHAT YOU READ

CAMERA, a pro-Israeli activist group, has sent out the following email to their associates asking them to promote the book "The Liberty Incident: The 1967 Israeli Attack on the U.S. Navy Spy Ship."

This book is written by a man who simply asked Israeli officials for their version of what happened to the USS Liberty and write it up as an "objective" report without bothering to even talk to any of the surviving crewmembers of the USS Liberty itself.

The Liberty IncidentAn example of this is Cristol’s portrayal of

[url=http://www.opednews.com/articles/2/opedne_rand_cli_070709_we_won_2c_you_lost.htm]At 2 p.m., Israeli fighter jets attacked the USS Liberty, initially targeting the command bridge, communications antennas, and the four .50 calibre machine guns placed to repel boarders. Once those fighters had spent their ordnance, consecutive new waves would engage, adding napalm to the rocket and 30 mm cannon fire. Intense radio jamming kept the USS Liberty from calling for help from the Sixth Fleet in the Mediterranean. Thirty-five minutes into the air attack, fighters disengaged and three Israeli torpedo boats closed in for a surface attack. Of the five torpedoes laun...
