How generous. Those accepting that deal could most likely take a job at Mickey D's for those wages.

The difference is that a US McD's salary goes a long way in India. I have a friend from India and he is always telling me that you can vacation at nice hotels and restaurants for a month on just a couple of thousand dollars (except for the crazy price of the flight to get there)

And lets not discount the fact that they are offering people SOMETHING, They could just be doing like everyone else and telling the people to just hit the bricks.

Oh, and $13M is chump change for executive bonuses. When are people going to start to understand that these people get these large salaries and bonuses mostly because they (under normal circumstances) help to generate an exponential amount more than that...

The weather is not so nice, unless of course, you enjoy oppressive heat, months of rain, floods, monsoons and,
btw -- the Ganges River is polluted. This is their sacred river, part of giving a soul a proper send off. Now if this is polluted, what about the rivers that aren't sacred.

There was a time when IBM had a "no layoff" policy no matter how rough a time the company was having. That's what made it such a desirable place to work despite the rigidity of their corporate culture (I've seen the IBM employee handbook from the '70s. Among other things, the colors of men's shirts and suits were limited, certain brands of shoes were forbidden, and there were rules for grooming and other personal details, even off the clock).

The big problem I have with executive bonuses is that they get paid out even if the company is going down the tubes. Why is it that you never hear about execs having to pony up when the company loses money? Why do so many rewards come at the expens...
