Add to that, the 1,000,000 + who died during the 12 years of sanctions before that and we're nearing a genocide! nearing genocide? We're there. The below is quoted from the U.N. convention that was passed in 1948 after the holocaust and the U.S. is a signatory (as of 1985) meaning it's the law of our land according to the constitution. "In the present Convention, genocide means any of the following acts committed with intent to destroy, in whole or in part, a national, ethnical, racial or religious group, as such: (a) Killing members of the group; (b) Causing serious bodily or mental harm to members of the group; (c) Deliberately inflicting on the group conditions of life calculated to bring about its physical destruction in whole or in part; (d) Imposing measures intended to prevent births... What a load of bullshit. touche Max You're right televiseus, we ARE there. We are more than there. These numbers are just staggering. Add to that, the 1,000,000 + who died during the 12 years of sanctions before that and we're nearing a genocide!1. Saddam invaded Kuwait. (Initiating the chain of events that led to sanctions). 2. Bush Sr. betrays the Iraqi people by not supporting militarily the over throw of Saddam Hussien as he promised them. Which leads to thousands of deaths because Saddam had to put down the uprising and without American support they were slaughtered along with their hometowns and families. This also leads to a huge distrust of the United States that could have been a great friendship, not to mention it leads to 9/11. 3. Instead Bush Sr. implements a policy of containmen... 10. Bush Jr makes the case for war against Iraq listing 4 primary reasons. 1. WMDs. 2. Iraqi Freedom. 3. Violation of UN security council resolutions. 3. Terrorism, which included but was not limited to links to Al-Qeada. #2 is conveniently forgotten by Liberals to support thier politcal position. They contend this was thought up when things started going bad in Iraq. Nevermind the invasion was called Operation Iraqi Freedom. 11. The US overthrows Saddam finally making good on a 12 year old promise. 12. The US votes to lift Iraqi sanctions, the sanctions that Liberals say were working, again neverminding the deaths it caused because of Saddam pillaging or Oil for Food money and tyranny... The war, " that we made it with fair explosives or deceptive gases, the results are identical : died, destruction, pain, horror and all which ensues from it. Do we want to be really civilized people ? Then let us abolish the war. " General Giulio DOUHET |
