Maybe a "sick joke," might best way to describe it. Putting nuclear missles in Poland (way up in Poland) would be like Russia putting nukes in Mexico.

Besides Russian and American warships crashing into each other in the open seas a lot of folks don't know that the USA was trying to build missiles on Russia's border then, too (in Turkey, I think). So the USA agreed to take down it's Turkey base and the Russian's pulled out of Cuba.

So, here we are again. The Bush Administration has managed to bring back the Cold War and raise the possible of Europe having a nuclear holocaust.
