These women rarely know they are victims, and are told they are responsible for this condition. Beside devastating physical injuries, without perspective, support, and encouragement to allow them to to realize the guilt lies with their attackers, they are left in a state of trauma induced shock, which compounds physical and emotional damage and scars.The Trauma cannot be relived with 'western medicine' That may repair physical damage, if the victim is prepared to accept it, but the trauma is personal, and can only be understood and resolved by those with the strength to overcome it who can then help a victim regain their confidence and self respect.
