In most larger corporations, if you took every penny of the CEO's earnings and spread it out among the workforce, it would work out to be about a couple of bucks per worker.

Are you paid too much?

Why would people give away money if value was not seen in doing so?

The only people that do not -deserve- something are those that are given something for nothing.

yes, the story of a teacher's wage, value not seen, but my question was, would better pay improve a company's long term value? There was no right or wrong implied, but rather a question about how best to create value. The board of directors seems to imply the best way to create long term value is simply to incentivize the ceo with millions of dollars, but I'm not sure this is true. Help me flush it out some more willhelm.

When value is incentivized (if I may create a word), then the incentive comes by creating value OR the foreseeable potential of creating value ( other factors are at play).

Company "value" is achieved by productivity and success. Productivity and success are driven by hierarchy and incentive.

I suppose, and certainly agree, there may be more of a movement toward, and "value" in, flattening the corporate structure given libertarian incrementalism and technology. However, it will come through incrementalism, not fascist progressivism.

I did not mean to take credit for the word. My spell check didn't recognize the word and I could not think of another word to use.

See? Back to your point on another clip...That is how you deal with a fact in light of a personal attack.

I'm a little lost, I don't want to drag this out, where is the personal attack (?); I want to apologize if I seemingly gave one. You are probably my favorite commenter, and I mis-speak if it comes off as an attack. If it's about incentivize, I used it first, (look up) and thought you were poking fun at me, hence the use of the word chuckle! I can laugh at myself, but I had to look it up to make sure it IS a word!

I beg your pardon.
