A little light on the guy, Cliff Harris, who created that chart :

Cliff Harris said:

First, let me introduce climatologist Cliff Harris. According to SpokesmanReview.com, Harris is not a trained scientist he studied insurance law in college and from TribTalk.com,

Harris is also a devout Christian and believes the Bible is loaded with clues on predicting the weather. I do believe in a period of extreme global warming. That will be in the tribulation period. Thats when the real global warming will come in, he said. Those of us who are believers, were looking forward to it.

Harris acknowledges that people are playing a role in polluting the atmosphere, but he thinks society would be better ...

Could you please get down to the graph.

His graph? It's a mish-mash of out of context scientific theories mixed liberally with religious dogma and topped off with preconceived notions.

“I believe this planet is a breathing entity, made by God, to clean itself, adjust itself.” Harris said in the article by James Hagengruber. This would be The Rapture. The premise of this argument appears to be: human beings are not responsible for climate change because it is part of God’s greater Plan, therefore investing in costly forms of clean energy is not necessary or useful. In addition, curtailing business and the economy by demanding reductions of carbon dioxide emissions is actually counter-productive. Instead, Harris asserts, our...

Is 0.9 degree F drop in global temperatures a religious dogma? Is natural variability of global temperature, depictured by the graph, a preconceived notion?
Once again, specify your objections to the graph. Your slipping away is essentially dogmatism.

First, anyone that displays a graph and omits the measurement on the y-axis has something to hide. Then, to depict something as variable and complex a global temperature as such a smooth curve suggests dishonesty.

If you look very carefully at the graph, you will find that the baseline of the graph is 57˚F (label on the far right) and there was a point labeled 58˚F for now. They are reporting huge shifts of average global temperature which vary at most a couple tenths of degrees from year to year. The absence of normal variations that one sees in temperature charts indicates that the data must have been made up. Regarding "nomanic times", the Scythians are known as "nomanic invaders"...

Have you ever read IPCC reports? Go check out. IPCC reports are full of such graphs. In their reports you will find everything you need not to doubt natural variability of global temperature on scales similar to those on the graph. At least before 2001 report. It was 2001 report that they "smoothed" all paleoclimate data to get past centuries colder and 20 century's warming more pronounced (that is how consensus goes along with itself). As to current drop in temperature, you can also check it out. Otherwise, enjoy looking at the hockey stick with temperature rocketing to...
