masbury says: Bush is further confirmation: under Dem presidents GDP, employment, stocks grow at a much higher avg than under Republicans. And the major bear markets happen on Republicans' watch. When will we learn? I thought with incredulity reading this - where were the business correspondents! Even an Aussie living in Australia knew that the jobs figures were rigged, I sat around waiting for years for ANYBODY to explain the rest to me - utter silence. The WSJ should be charged with 'fraud played upon the reader' but if anyone has read it lately you would think that Bush' s### doesn't smell and that he was the BEST pres ever and his admin even better. Is that what is meant by the "trickle down" theory? That's just junk journalism. We have found just the opposite to be true. I'm not really in doubt about this conclusion, but it may get more worth, if be included the value of the dollar and income of the families. That's the one what is a testimony for the wealth of a state. And I remember, that this was high in the time of Pres. Eisenhower. If the dollar is too high, the foreign trade will go back and the employment goes down. You can see this in the first Reagan period, while in the second the $ fell nearly at the half (I remember 1 $ from 3,25 DM to 1,85 DM, - from my mind!). In this 2. period of Reagan the half world bought weapons from USA or was been armed by US. (Iraq, Afghanistan, Nicaragua/Contra and some African too.) But how do the american workers remember this time? That's just junk journalism. We have found just the opposite to be true.Who's "we," Jat? Is that what is meant by the "trickle down" theory?Yes. It should have been called the "trickle away" theory. The WSJ should be charged with 'fraud played upon the reader' but if anyone has read it lately you would think that Bush' s### doesn't smell and that he was the BEST pres ever and his admin even better.Susanhelen: If one "follows the money" it would point a finger of suspicion at notorious righty Murdoch, the owner - who has ample reason to keep business looking good. Business is the WSJ's market, and its advertisers' targets. Er, "target." |
