Interesting! That would explain why corn - a central American crop - would have large "seeds." Plants closer to the equator also receive more sunlight. More sunlight plus favorable growing conditions (temp, soil and water) equals bigger seeds. As the growing conditions decline. so does the fruit and seeds. Of course most farmers have known this for years now. |
