Potential Elections Code violations brought to the unit’s attention are thoroughly investigated and referred to law enforcement officials for prosecution when there is sufficient evidence of wrongdoing. The Secretary of State’s office does not disclose information about the status of ongoing criminal investigations, but the information from a case that results in a criminal complaint filed by a county or state prosecutor is a public record.

One point this makes clear is that it is not a felony for an agency if one of their workers is lazy or of ill-will.

The fraud is on the head of the person who fills out the voter registration card falsely -- or anyone who directs others to fill out a voter registration card falsely.

The last person I heard of who went to jail for voter fraud and/or voter suppression, BTW, was the head of the State Republican Party of New Hampshire, in 2004

I'm glad to hear that Obama is calling for a Dept. of Justice investigation of all this; and wanting to see it linked to the ongoing investigation into the Bush firing of state DA"...

(some of whom were fired for allegedly not hunting down cases of Democratic voter fraud while at the same time ignoring cases of Republican voter fraud).

Republican tactics like 'voter caging,' trying to now stop people who have lost their homes due to foreclosure from voting (presumable, thus, people who are more poor or suspected of being minorities), their efforts to mislead people to the wrong polling places, their intimidation of poor and minority voters in certain neighborhoods (hiring off-duty cops with guns at the voting stations in minority neighborhoods...false threats that people might be arrested when voting if their are any outstanding warrants or parking tickets against them), challenging registrations if a woman didn't change her last name when she got married (doing this in minority districts), challenging registrations that have minor mistakes or typos in name or address (doing this in minority districts), etc.

All this is way bad. Encouraging people to vote is what we should be doing.

Some folks give their citizens $20.00 if they vote. This works well (Other states punish them if they don't vote).

This should be less bi-annual effort to PURGE the polls...like purging people who didn't vote in the last elections, etc.
