bignosemousie says: How do you feel about books? I find them very companionable. They are excellent teachers and fine friends. A great book on a rainy day, curled up in a far away place... I don't know what I'd do without my books. I have five bookcases full and I'm back to stacking some on the floor. When I moved here I had to promise my sons partner to get rid of some or he'd never help me move again. I got rid of two bookcases full and it was like I was giving away part of myself. I have all kinds of books; cooking, craft, fiction, non-fiction, text books, you name it I've probably got it. Sometimes I borrow a book from the library and I like it so much that I will buy a copy from myself. Yes, they are great companions! I meant I'd buy a copy for myself, not from myself. I know what you mean, Tanya. I have books stacked all over the place. I wish I had a library full of shelves. Despite the internet and ebooks, podcasts, etc the smell of books in brick-and mortar surroundings, a library, reading room or book store will not go out of fashion...Agree with y'all bnm, tanyamm. I can't boast of the same degree of interest as you guys but I never travel without a book and usually finish it during the trip...thanks the smell of books in brick-and mortar surroundingsIntoxicating! Books are wonderful - they are inexpensive vacations, healers and educators. Even if you're low on money, you can still travel around the world with a good book. If it's really good you don't even need pictures. Even if you're low on money, you can still travel around the world with a good book.So true! In some cases I prefer to visit a place in a book. |
