Having sat in a large lecture hall in college, I can see why the smaller classes would produce less failure. Those lectures allowed for no questions. And of course, being one of 300 or so, you didn't want to 'stand out' and 'not know' something.

I guess I was lucky in that I never had to suffer the 300 class lecture hall thing. Most of my classes were generally under 30 people. But the idea of a change in methodology I found both interesting and inspiring. And you can't ague against a 50% reduction in the failure rate. That's significant.
