AtlLiberal says: One person's answer to the old question, if you don't believe in a god why does it matter to you what others believe? Beautiful Great clip! Good clip Wow! Very well put. I don't agree with it all but she is very articulate and I admire her enthusiasm Well,I like some of the things she has to say,but her approach is hostile, and takes away from the tolerance for others and respect for religious beliefs which I myself ,as an atheist, believe in. respect for religious beliefsPeople's opinions don't deserve the same respect in the way that fellow human beings do. The idea that to ridicule an idea or opinion is the same as ridiculing a person is a favorite ploy used by theists to stifle debate or honest criticism. Of course, how you choose to interact with others is your own concern. The point is, simply because a belief is based on religious dogma doesn't confer any special privilege upon it. It should be no different than a belief in horoscopes, phrenology, alchemy, palm reading, or numerology. |
