• “Man must stop pollution and conserve his resources, not merely to enhance existence but to save the race from the intolerable deteriorations and possible extinction,” The New York Times editorial, April 20, 1970.

• “By 1985, air pollution will have reduced the amount of sunlight reaching earth by one half...” Life magazine, January 1970.

• “Population will inevitably and completely outstrip whatever small increases in food supplies we make,” Paul Ehrlich, interview in Mademoiselle magazine, April 1970.

• “...air pollution...is certainly going to take hundreds of thousands of lives in the next few years alone,” Paul Ehrlich, interview in Mademoiselle magazine, April 1970.

• Ehrlich also predicted that in 1973, 200,000 Americans would die from air pollution, and that by 1980 the life expectancy of Americans would be 42 years.

• “It is already too late to avoid mass starvation,” Earth Day organizer Denis Hayes, The Living Wilderness, Spring 1970.

Oh sure- we're expecting an ice age- there was a LOT more snow and it was on the ground ALL winter where I live this year.... I guess that's why they want to call it "climate change" now instead of "global warming"

You fail to mention some scientists who disagreed with your examples such as James Lovelock whose research produced the Gaia theory in the early '70's. The explosion of science in the era following '70 was quite dramatic with the improvements in data gathering and computer efficiency....

James Lovelock is directly responsible for the death ( I would even say Malthusean-esque murder) of millions of people in Africa because of his suggestion that chemicals adversely affect and spread throughout all living organisms. What followed was the banning of DDT, a completely harmless and beneficial chemical used to defend against Malaria.

His lunacy continues:

"If there were a 100 per cent cut in fossil fuel combustion it might get hotter not cooler. We live in a fool's climate. We are damned if we continue to burn fuel and damned if we stop too suddenly." James Lovelock

"The world has already passed the point of no return for climate change,
and civilisation as we know it is now un...

Reverend Miller pronounce the end of the world in 1845 when the pronounced doomsday did not occur (The Great dissapointment) Miller and his followers were harshly criticized. Not everyone rejected the idea that something happened on that day, instead they started to reason away the apparent FALSEHOOD of the claim into a totally new and equally false claim to justify their initial belief system. Psychologists call this cognitive dissonance. It would appear from the increased lunacy produced by one failed perdiction after another that the cult of global warming has adopted...
