Whoa, Jesus as an avian. Never seen this before either. "Eccentric subgenre" pretty much describes it on-spot.

This looks like to me that it is Jesus within the Holy Spirit (which is represented as a bird) and i do see reference to a seraphic angel's wings (six wings total). Seraphic angels stand next to the throne of God the Father. If you notice, these are not strings but rays of light emitting from the His Holy Wounds and touching a Saint (notice the upreaching outstretched hands, a hand holding a kite string would be cluthced shut). These rays pierce the persons hands and feet and side, this gives them the Holy Stigmata (signifying their Sainthood). You can find paintings done of Saint Francis of Assisi who was one of the earliest Saints known to receive the Holy Stigmata. I hope that helps. I a...
