In no way defending the type of action you are all enjoying so much, I'd just like to pose a question. What level of due-diligence has this been subjected to so as to be sure that it was, in fact, one Mr. Jerry Marlow who authored and mailed this tripe? In viewing the source site, atlasshrugs, there is no mention of any attempt at authentication of the sender.

Just asking.

I'll have to admit. I read Atlas Shrugs from time to time and I also read Think Progress and HuffPo regularly. I put Atlas Shrugs in the same class as TP and HP. Interesting opinion, but not always the most reliable sources, in fact they tend to lurch into the sphere of propaganda.

No, you're not trusting Pam, you're trusting whoever first crafted that message. I never said she was responsible for the message. For the sake of conversation, I too will take on blind faith that she received it as reported. All I asked was if there was any assurance that Marlow had in fact created it.

So, let me review. You don't know who wrote it, only that it is credited to Jerry Marlow. You cannot discern the difference between a supposed friend of an anonymous commenter and the blog author, and you take either as gospel. You haven't done your due diligence, but you expect me, who really doesn't have a dog in this fight, to do it for you.

I called, and yes, I spoke with the man himself.

He says he is very sorry, that he never should have done it--and that he sent it on a day when he was feeling very stressed out.
