And since there is a risk, with my provacative title, that I'm going to piss off some of the chosen people, let me outline my take on the Israeli situation and you tell me what you think:

1.
Israel must always be a sovereign nation
...on the principle that, no matter how long it takes, when you take away the land of a people, eventually, they are going to get it back. And there can be no peace until that wrong is righted.

2.
Palestine must always be a sovereign nation
...on the same principle. Jews of all people should know that the Palestinians will never give up fighting for their lands. The Jews and Palestinians, furthermore, are equally deserving of sovereign nations.

The US Fundamentalist Christain Right-Wing Pro-Israel Lobby is an enemy of Israel.
...on the grounds that they desire no peace for Israel, nor do they desire a permanent Israel - they simply want Israel to exist long enough for God to destroy it.

4.
The GOP is not a friend to Israel
This Fundamentalist Evangelical agenda has been reflected in the repeated undermining of reasonable peace efforts with bellicose and jingoistic rhetoric and arms sales.

5.
Palestinians are much better friends to Israel than America
Because a war in the Levant effects them directly. Both Israeli Jews and Palestinian Arabs will naturally desire a peaceful solution, while external parties that do not suffer as a result of the warfare may seek to prolong it for selfish political reasons.

6.
The creation of two equal states will create peace.
If a fully accepted Palestinian state is created, with its soveriegnty respected by Israel, the anti-Israeli movement will lose any justification.

7.
War is not inevitable.
There is no such thing as a suicidal race. The Arabs will chose life with Jews over death without them.
