debbyski says: "No matter. Last week it was business as usual, as Republican leaders nattered ad infinitum over the juvenile rivalry of Sarah Palin and Newt Gingrich at the party’s big Washington fund-raiser. Few if any mentioned, let alone questioned, the ominous script delivered by the actor Jon Voight with the G.O.P. imprimatur at that same event. Voight’s devout wish was to “bring an end to this false prophet Obama.” This kind of rhetoric, with its pseudo-Scriptural call to action, is toxic. It is getting louder each day of the Obama presidency. No one, not even Fox News viewers, can say they weren’t warned." This is what remains when you remove the smoke and mirrors! To hear it be said by some here, it is as if he had gone Jericho on the U.S. or some such nonsense. Of course what the are mewling about is not Obama's policies but the fact that they lost power to a black man and that people have turned their back on them. That is the real reason for their caterwauling. The Habit of Hate: Calling for the pound of flesh: The frenzy will not abate until they find something else, outside of themselves, that they can hate this much. It’s an addiction. A self-consuming one. From April 2007: Google hits for "I hate conservatives" -11,700 Google hits for "I hate terrorists" - 800 Google hits for "Bush is a Nazi" - 27,800 Google hits for "Hitler was a Nazi" - 16,300 Google hits for "Republicans are evil" - 26,000 Google hits for "Satan is evil" - 808 The fact is, liberals find many of their own ideas so unconvincing that they spend most of their time bickering among themselves. That's not a governing philosophy. That's an episode of The View. Bill Clinton o... Wow, you used a lot of words there but managed to say absolutely nothing of meaning. Speaking of the devil, forgive me if I don't support a think tank whose greatest fear is the United States might forfeit it's chance at a global empire. I haven't heard more than a couple of snippets of the Voight speech, but what little I did hear was enough to be disturbing. I thought that Republicans didn't listen to members of the immoral Hollywood elite (they don't - they elect them). I'll have to look it up for greater scrutiny. |
