He explains the influence of the car factories on the city’s sound as well as that of his father’s weed-smoking on his own taste! Wajeed outlines why he believes artists have a responsibility beyond their music and also recalls how being a DJ was the best way to escape the ghetto’s endemic violence, while revealing the secrets of the <A target="_blank" href="http://www.slumvillage.com/">Slum Village</A> touring party and explains why he owes his own career to the ‘voice’ inside his head that wouldn’t let him eat, drink or use the toilet.
