egoldstein says: We know! Why do you think your approval ratings are so low??? Ugh... as unhappy as I am with Bush at this point, I still think there was no alternative. Keri and his flip-flop stances didn't exactly sit well with me. The term "flip-flopper" was coined by the Bush camp and repeated by the media, and latched onto by people who couldn't be bothered to think on their own. Apparently there's a lot of these people, who'd rather go with someone who is so stubborn and arrogant that he cannot reconsider his own "decisions" no matter how awful the outcome ends up (or, in this case, how many people die), than with someone who is contemplative and considers that sometimes you should change your mind. Count me in! Puh-leeze! I watched it all and made my own mind up. Keri changed his mind on his position on so many subjects I thought I was watching a a three year old try and tell a bad lie. Don't get me wrong I am no Bush fan anymore but Keri would have ultimately been an even worse choice. Oh, and let's be real, true liberals are just as stubborn as you claim Bush to be. Absolutely true BBW, Kerry played both sides of every issue. A Kerry administration would have been a disaster. That said, there's a case for Bush going down as the worst president of the 20th century. He is an abject failure as a leader and mover of policy. Maybe he blew all his capital on the war, which I believe in. But never has a president had an opportunity to do so much and done so little. Bush makes Clinton ( that wouldf be "Bill") look like a conservative. "I decide what's best."[\quote] |
