Sounds nice I just wish I had more time to read. I used to read a novel in a couple or few days. Now it takes more than a week to read something requiring no thought. Grandchildren take a lot of time and energy. I've thought of writing book reviews and I've decided that this is a place to start. I'm reading a couple of books now, Sun After Dark by Pico Iyer and Love in the Kingdom of Oil by Nawal El-Saadawi. If I were to write review favorite books from my childhood, I'd choose Black Beauty, National Velvet, Charlotte's Web and a biography about Touissant L'Overture. Mine would be Treasure Island by Stevenson, The Nancy Drew books, and the most memorable book read during my adolescent which was Catcher in The Rye. There is never such a guilty pleasure as holding a virgin hardback book in your hands and turning the pages |
