　前原誠司国土交通相が建設中止を表明した八ツ場（やんば）ダムのある群馬県長野原町の町役場に、一晩で４千件のメールが殺到していたことが２５日わかった。建設推進を求める地元に対し、８割が批判的な内容。町は「中傷が目立ち、メールサーバーへの負荷もかかる」として、メールの受け付けなどを２５日朝、停止した。

　地元の住民代表らが２３日の前原国交相との意見交換会への出席を拒否したことを受け「対話拒否はおかしい」「（民主党が総選挙に勝ったという）民意に背くのか」といった批判や、「ダムが中止になって、なぜ喜ばないのか」という意見が多く、なかには「ごね得」「非国民」などと中傷するメールも。

　同町によると、通常は一日数件が届く程度。前原国交相が現地視察をした２３日は２００件を超すメールが届いた。担当者が２５日午前８時すぎに確認すると、前夜からの間に４千件届いていたという。ネットの巨大掲示板に役場のメールアドレスが書き込まれたことが原因らしい。
