Mean, it isn't necessarily that they lied- it could be that they have been duped into believing the modern myth that believing in anything but evolution means you checked your brain at the door. They took what they were taught and taught it to you.

Aside from that there are reasons for some people to lie- to themselves as well as others- if there were a Creator of the universe, they might have to change some of their thoughts and behaviors and they don't want to.
Modern thought in our world assumes that whatever you believe, it is true for you. But in reality, truth stands whether you believe it or not.

What? Please.... You can not prove or disprove the existence of God (or Gods for that matter). If you want to teach creationism, that is what Sunday school is for. The Greeks believed in giants and ancient heroes, it turned out they merely re-arranged the remains of ancient mammals and dinosaurs.

Besides, science is not a belief system, don't treat it as such.
